About the position

This position is part of the Global Law and Compliance Department (GLCD) at Wolters Kluwer, focusing on privacy compliance activities across various commercial business units. The role involves providing guidance on data protection requirements, conducting privacy assessments, and supporting incident management related to privacy issues. The successful candidate will work closely with business units to ensure alignment with privacy control frameworks and implement privacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct privacy compliance activities for multiple commercial business units under the direction of the Director of Privacy Operations.
  • Document records of processing and impact assessments as necessary.
  • Review business activities for alignment with the Wolters Kluwer privacy control framework.
  • Provide guidance on data protection requirements and best practices according to applicable laws and GLCD guidance.
  • Identify and escalate potential privacy compliance risks for review by relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide operational support for privacy-related incidents, including serving on incident management teams.
  • Implement or refine roles and responsibilities for privacy champions within commercial business units.
  • Coordinate and implement various privacy initiatives, including relevant policies, procedures, training, and awareness.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of significant privacy experience, preferably advising corporate clients on privacy issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant privacy statutes, regulations, and guidance in the US, UK, and EEA, including GDPR.
  • Privacy certification preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and working with multi-stakeholder teams.
  • Strong ethical compass, problem-solving skills, and sound business judgment.
  • Experience operating in an international environment with diverse cultures.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
