About the position

The Senior Data Reporting Analyst at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination is responsible for managing and ensuring the integrity of data related to service and research projects. This role involves overseeing data collection, management, and storage across various databases, implementing data quality checks, and providing training to colleagues. The analyst will also assist in developing research outputs and will work closely with project supervisors to support data-driven initiatives aimed at eliminating new HIV transmissions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the general maintenance of the Center's data collection tools (i.e. Apricot, REDCap) and develops new workflows as needed.
  • Provides recommendations for best practices in the design of data collection tools and data management systems to improve data quality.
  • Responsible for data management aspects of research studies and service programs.
  • Generates documentation for projects, including procedural manuals, protocol worksheets, and progress reports.
  • Performs quality assurance (QA) audits and prepares QA summary reports for staff and stakeholders.
  • Prepares analytic datasets for research recruitment and analyses, providing preliminary descriptive statistics.
  • Oversees the execution of data usage agreements (DUA) and data management plans (DMP).
  • Standardizes processes for data abstraction that support service projects and research studies.
  • Provides professional support to staff or faculty in data science principles and trains new staff on data management protocols.
  • Produces quantitative or qualitative analytic products for research projects.

Requirements

  • A college or university degree in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with manipulation of large databases and data synthesis from multiple sources.
  • Experience maintaining and documenting source code for reproducibility of research projects.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software packages such as SAS, Stata, or R.
  • Familiarity with HIV/STI prevention research and public health surveillance methods.
  • Experience working on health, service, and/or social science programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, including Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
