About the position

The Senior Data Science Analyst in Computational Pathology and AI at Mayo Clinic will play a crucial role in managing the full life cycle of AI projects within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. This position focuses on developing predictive models and providing consultative services to enhance patient health outcomes through advanced data analysis techniques. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, including clinicians and outside companies, to implement AI solutions that are accessible to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple AI projects from idea through implementation.
  • Develop model training pipelines for image-based and tabular data.
  • Assist in developing and translating prototype models for production-level software.
  • Build toolkits for bulk annotation, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with collaborative teams to ensure project success.
  • Provide consultative services at an enterprise level to various departments.
  • Develop predictive models on large-scale datasets using advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
  • Participate in discovery processes to identify business requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Lead data analysis interpretation and report writing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, health science, or a related field.
  • At least 12 graduate-level semester hours in domain-relevant sciences or seven years of data science and AI experience.
  • PhD or master's degree with one year of experience in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consultative services to departments and committees.
  • Advanced expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and statistical data processing.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare data types and scientific challenges.
  • Strong leadership, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise in scientific computing and data management packages.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and communication.
