As a Senior Data Scientist 2, you will play a crucial role in leveraging cutting-edge computational tools and techniques to analyze complex biological datasets. Your expertise in systems biology, big data analytics, and machine learning will be pivotal in driving the research and development efforts at Eikon. You will be responsible for translating biological data into stable workflows and innovative analysis tools, ensuring that scientific reproducibility and intelligibility are prioritized alongside innovation. Your ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining a focus on long-term goals will be essential in adapting to the fast-paced environment of experimental science. In this role, you will collaborate with experimental biologists, bioinformaticians, and other data scientists to design and execute research projects. You will also be tasked with maintaining and enhancing data pipelines for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval, and communicating your findings through reports, presentations, and publications. Staying current with the latest advancements in systems biology, big data analytics, and machine learning will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that Eikon remains at the cutting edge of biopharmaceutical research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply machine learning algorithms and statistical models to identify patterns and make predictions based on biological data.
  • Integrate diverse data types to construct comprehensive models of biological systems.
  • Collaborate with experimental biologists, bioinformaticians, and other data scientists to design and execute research projects.
  • Maintain and enhance data pipelines for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • Communicate findings and insights through reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in systems biology, big data analytics, and machine learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. degree with 3 years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in developing and applying machine learning algorithms and statistical models.
  • Proficiency in integrating diverse data types to construct comprehensive models of biological systems.
  • Experience collaborating with experimental biologists, bioinformaticians, and other data scientists.
  • Ability to maintain and enhance data pipelines for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting findings and insights.
