About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist at Capital One, you will explore customer clickstream events to identify patterns and develop real-time machine learning models aimed at enhancing customer experiences and ensuring data accuracy to combat fraud. This role involves working closely with various teams to guide experiments, influence product improvements, and operate scalable systems that serve millions of customers.

Responsibilities

• Explore billions of clickstream events to discover patterns in customer behavior and model key customer outcomes.
• Develop real-time models using vast amounts of customer data to anticipate customer needs and deliver appropriate options.
• Ensure the accuracy of critical customer data to combat fraud and enable seamless digital experiences across all products.
• Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design to training, evaluation, and validation.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve operationalization in scalable and resilient production systems serving over 50 million customers.
• Conduct experiments in collaboration with business and product teams to enhance customer experiences and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or Master's Degree plus 1 year of experience in data analytics.
• At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience with relational databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD in a STEM field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with AWS.
• At least 2 years' experience in Python, PyTorch, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years' experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years' experience with SQL.
• At least 2 years' experience working with natural language processing.
