About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist in the Consumer Identity Machine Learning team at Capital One, you will leverage your expertise in data science and machine learning to enhance customer experiences across various digital platforms. This role involves building and deploying machine learning models that analyze vast amounts of customer data to anticipate needs, improve accuracy in customer data, and combat fraud. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to operationalize these models, ensuring they serve over 50 million customers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, and validation.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve operationalization in scalable and resilient production systems.
• Conduct experiments with various business and product teams to guide improvements in customer experiences and business outcomes.
• Write software in Python to collect, explore, visualize, and analyze large datasets using tools like Spark.
• Explore billions of clickstream events to discover patterns in customer behavior and model key customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or a Master's Degree plus 1 year of experience in data analytics.
• At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience with relational databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or a PhD in a STEM field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with AWS.
• At least 2 years' experience in Python, PyTorch, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years' experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years' experience with SQL.
• At least 2 years' experience working with natural language processing.
