About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist in the Emerging ML team at Capital One, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning and data analytics to drive innovation and enhance customer experiences. This role involves conducting research and development in artificial intelligence, focusing on self-supervised learning and foundation models, while collaborating with product and engineering teams to implement scalable solutions that impact millions of customers.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, and validation.
• Partner with engineering teams to operationalize models in scalable and resilient production systems.
• Conduct experiments to guide improvements in customer experiences and business outcomes across various domains.
• Write software in Python, Scala, etc., to collect, explore, visualize, and analyze large datasets using tools like Spark and AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or Master's Degree plus 1 year of experience in data analytics.
• At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience with relational databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Experience working with AWS.
• At least 2 years' experience in Python, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years' experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years' experience with SQL.
