About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist in the Emerging ML team at Capital One, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning and data analytics to drive innovation and enhance customer experiences. This role involves conducting research, building models, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to operationalize data-driven solutions that impact millions of customers. You will work on cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, focusing on self-supervised learning and representation learning, while also refining integration patterns for machine learning models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into self-supervised learning, transformer models, and representation learning.
• Build customer behavioral models using transaction, clickstream, and other data to identify trends and patterns.
• Refine integration patterns for encoder and decoder models for downstream use cases.
• Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, and validation.
• Partner with engineering teams to operationalize models in scalable production systems.
• Collaborate with business and product teams to conduct experiments that improve customer experiences and business outcomes.
• Write software in Python, Scala, etc., to collect, explore, visualize, and analyze large datasets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or Master's Degree plus 1 year of experience in data analytics.
• At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience with relational databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Experience working with AWS.
• At least 2 years' experience in Python, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years' experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years' experience with SQL.
