About the position

The Senior Data Scientist at Walmart will lead the deployment of Machine Learning models in a production environment, focusing on enhancing customer understanding and experience. This role is pivotal in supporting Walmart's digital advertising growth strategy by leveraging data to drive insights and operational decisions. The position involves collaboration with various teams to develop tools that quantify the impact of investments on customers, associates, and shareholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of Machine Learning models in a production environment.
• Support the development of the Customer Decision & Segmentation Engine.
• Identify data collection opportunities to enhance understanding of customer and associate experiences.
• Assist in building out a data feature store.
• Mentor other data scientists in putting models into production.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in MLOps and Machine Learning in production.
• Strong background in ML model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Python; Scala is optional.
• Experience with SQL and data engineering practices.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud environments like Azure and Google Cloud.

Nice-to-haves

• PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools like JIRA.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG standards.
