About the position

The Senior Data Scientist - Manager, Emerging Technology Governance role is designed for a candidate with a strong foundation in data science and compliance. This position involves utilizing data science techniques to enhance technical model components while ensuring adherence to compliance standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will draft and implement policies, conduct audits, and provide training to ensure organizational compliance, all while leveraging data analysis and machine learning techniques to drive insights and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data science knowledge to understand, implement, and improve technical model components.
  • Apply machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization to interpret data and provide insights.
  • Clean and validate data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and uniformity.
  • Develop and test code using programming languages such as SQL, Java, C++, and Python.
  • Validate analytical models using model fit testing, tuning, and validation techniques.
  • Draft, revise, and implement compliance policies and procedures in alignment with regulations.
  • Interpret and implement regulations pertaining to the company's operations and data management.
  • Develop and implement effective controls to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of controls and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas of concern.
  • Drive training and awareness initiatives for compliance requirements and procedures.
  • Coordinate with different departments to facilitate compliance across the organization.
  • Stay current with changes in regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Provide reports and updates to management on compliance-related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations relevant to emerging technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models experience.
  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Successful completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  • Experience with open source frameworks like scikit learn, tensorflow, torch.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
