About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist at Baker Hughes, you will be part of a dynamic cloud analytics team responsible for curating and analyzing extensive datasets from various industry verticals. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and efficiency across the energy value chain, leveraging your expertise in data science to make impactful contributions. You will collaborate closely with other data scientists and analytics engineers, working in a fast-paced environment that values rapid prototyping and experimentation. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer data and analytics requirements, developing and validating analytics solutions, and translating complex algorithms into commercially viable products and services. In this position, you will engage with customers to capture their data needs, ensuring that the analytics developed align with their business objectives. You will also work alongside software developers and engineers to implement applied, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, enhancing the overall data quality and analytics capabilities. Your role will involve performing exploratory data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methodologies, as well as partnering with data engineers to assess data quality and conduct data cleansing. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating comprehensive reports and documentation to communicate your findings and methodologies effectively to stakeholders. To thrive in this role, you will need a strong foundation in machine learning algorithms and AI techniques, including deep learning methods. Your technical skills should encompass high-level programming languages and frameworks, as well as experience with various deep learning frameworks. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be required to articulate complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to perform your duties from home or any other location that suits your working style.

Responsibilities

  • Capture data and analytics requirements from customers.
  • Develop, verify, and validate analytics to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with software developers to translate algorithms into products.
  • Work in technical teams on applied, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics.
  • Partner with data engineers on data quality assessment and cleansing.
  • Generate reports and documentation to communicate work outcomes.
  • Communicate methods, findings, and hypotheses with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on coding experience as a data scientist.
  • Advanced knowledge of Machine Learning Algorithms and AI techniques.
  • Experience with high-level programming languages such as R, Python, Perl, Ruby, Scala.
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, CNTK.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work.
