The Senior Data Scientist, SEO position is a pivotal role within our organization, reporting directly to the Director of Consumer Product Analytics. This role is essential as Realtor.com is currently undergoing aggressive strategic growth, driven by newly integrated entities. Continuing our record growth and enhancing consumer engagement will be critical to our strategic success in the industry. The core responsibilities of this role will focus on partnering directly with major functions of the business to drive consumer engagement, conversion, and overall optimization of the consumer's journey for our emerging product and service areas. This position is central to Realtor.com’s long-term strategic growth and will liaise with leadership across various functions of the business, including Product, Design, and Engineering within the Core product organization. The product is designed to aid consumers in their home search, connect them with the right agents/brokers, and educate buyers on the path to home ownership. An ideal candidate will possess a background that drives value through the analysis of web analytics, product functions, and strategic business planning. They should have the ability to influence executives and representatives across the organization to achieve results in a disciplined manner. Familiarity or expertise in digital consumer/search businesses, consumer funnel optimization, consumer analytics/segmentation, and experimentation is essential. Experience within real estate tech, B2B/sales analytics, consumer search, and/or marketplaces is a significant advantage. General responsibilities include decision support, AB testing analytics support, product development opportunity sizing, consumer behavior analysis, and performance management of Realtor.com’s consumer internet business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product team in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Consumer internet businesses.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to drive high-level oversight of business initiatives and company health, and develop regular insights from the data to enable performance management and facilitate accountability.
  • Deliver high-quality data-driven business analyses that address business issues with effective solutions, and provide key insights leading to actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with the Product organization on data-driven decision making, idea generation, and rigorous measurement.
  • Lead exploratory analysis to identify and size product development opportunities to determine tradeoffs between product features that grow and optimize the product offering.
  • Develop product learning agendas, design multivariate tests, and synthesize analytical results into practical recommendations that inform key business decisions.
  • Partner with the engineering and business intelligence teams to drive improvements to tracking and data quality.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand product performance, conduct complex initiatives that address key strategic questions, and drive assorted ad hoc projects.
  • Inform OKR development with product leadership.

Requirements

  • BA/BS with an undergraduate focus in Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, Economics, or a related field; Masters a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility; online media/consumer audience-oriented / consumer internet experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in digital tools including Omniture and Google Analytics preferred; SQL experience required.
  • Solid understanding of experimentation/AB testing fundamentals.
  • Proven track record of translating business problems into analytical frameworks and developing analytical plans for answering complex problems and delivering analytic insights.
  • Experience interfacing with technical resources with broad, multi-disciplinary expertise.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical disciplines to financial, consumer audience/user experience, and/or product-level modeling, forecasting, regression, time series, etc.
  • Business partnering and influencing skills.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills; mature presence coupled with emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals in various functional areas and various levels of management including top-level executives.
  • Ability to remain flexible and thrive in a fast-paced and often hectic environment. Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, and provide data-driven clarity to less technical audiences.
