About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist on the TikTok E-commerce Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the shopping experience for our users. Your primary focus will be to develop scientific metrics that measure the success of our governance and experience initiatives. This involves creating a robust credit system designed to incentivize positive behavior among merchants and creators, ensuring that our platform remains a trustworthy environment for e-commerce. You will collaborate closely with engineers and product managers, driving project execution through clear problem scoping and design. Your contributions will directly impact the way users interact with e-commerce on TikTok, helping to eliminate malicious sellers, ensure compliance with policies, and guarantee that users receive authentic products in the expected condition. In instances where customer expectations are not met, you will help devise hassle-free solutions to rectify the situation, thereby enhancing user satisfaction and trust in our platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop scientific metrics to measure success of E-Commerce governance and experience team.
• Develop the credit system for merchants and creators to incentivize good behavior.
• Work closely with engineers and product managers to drive project execution and iteration by clear problem scoping and design.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economy or other relevant majors with 2+ years of work experience.
• Proficient in at least one software programming language, such as SQL/R/Python.
• Good self-driving ability and team cooperation ability, strong sense of responsibility, willingness and ability to challenge oneself and learn new knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

• Experiences in Hadoop/Spark/Storm and other computing platforms and tools.
• Hands-on experience in open source machine learning frameworks such as pytorch and tensorflow.
