About the position

The Senior Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics initiatives to drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency within the retail organization. This role involves collaboration with various cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges, utilizing advanced statistical analysis to extract actionable insights from large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to define business objectives, identify analytical opportunities, and develop data-driven strategies to achieve organizational goals.
• Provide expert guidance and consultation on the application of data science techniques to address key business challenges.
• Develop and implement optimization algorithms to improve operational efficiency, customer engagement, and business performance.
• Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations and drive alignment across teams to facilitate decision-making.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science and industry needs.
• Proactively identify opportunities to apply innovative analytical techniques and emerging technologies to solve business problems and drive competitive advantage.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of analytical models and findings through rigorous testing and validation.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate status updates to stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements governing data privacy, security, and confidentiality.
• Implement measures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 4 or more years of hands-on experience in applying advanced analytics to solve complex business problems in the retail industry.
• Working experience in software and/or business solution architecture design.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets, data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and SQL databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-sufficient/Self-Starter, strong planning and organizing skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
