About the position

The Senior Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in building a groundbreaking data science tool aimed at automating and optimizing data analysis for businesses. This position offers the opportunity to lead a new initiative from the ground up, collaborating with a team to create innovative solutions that address complex data challenges faced by companies across various industries. The role involves applying advanced data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning to develop high-quality predictive systems and enhance decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Utilizing database technologies, including SQL, ETL, EMR, and Redshift to shape data and statistical modeling packages like R and Python to build customer models
  • Establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation
  • Researching and implementing novel machine learning and statistical approaches

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Experience with common data science toolkits and data visualization tools
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig etc.
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Good scripting and programming skills such as Python
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields, or equivalent practical experience. Master's is preferred
  • Relevant working experience in an analytical role involving data extraction, analysis, model building, deployment and communication of insights
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills and problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools.
