About the position

ECS is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to provide data expertise and mentoring to the Eurasia Line of Business. The role involves applying complex tools and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data, as well as developing new techniques for analytics. The position requires collaboration with analysts and the ability to automate processes for data transformations and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with formalizing and integrating the collection, validation, analysis, and display of data through scripts.
  • Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify trends or relationships among variables and factors.
  • Apply complex statistical and mathematical analysis to identify trends, conflicts, and opportunities.
  • Prepare statistical reports and visualizations, including graphics or other representations of information.
  • Evaluate tools for efficiency and utility for analysis and visualization of data.
  • Identify technology solutions to improve analytic workflows and address complex data requests.
  • Process and triage code problems for data-related issues.
  • Develop and optimize performance regarding processes for data discovery, modeling, mining, and analysis techniques.
  • Recommend improvements for data capture requirements to enable further analytics.
  • Visualize information, conduct comparative analysis, and develop scripts, algorithms, or models.
  • Automate processes for data transformations and validation to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Perform data conditioning techniques for analytic purposes and to identify anomalies or outliers in data.
  • Assist analysts in identifying trends, correlations, and patterns in data.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or 6+ years of experience.
  • TS/SCI-CI Poly Clearance.
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques to solve complex problems using analytic tools.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data science projects and workflows.
  • Knowledge and experience in data mining, cleansing, and exploring spatial, temporal, and non-spatial data.
  • Ability to learn essential elements of intelligence problems and develop alternative processes or analyses.
  • Training in applied mathematics including statistics and mathematical support for analysis.
  • Demonstrated programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, Python, R, or modeling software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in a quantitative discipline such as data science or related field.
  • Experience with programming languages like R, Python, Pig, Java, JavaScript, and/or SQL.
  • Experience with modeling software suites like FME, SPSS, SAS, or ArcGIS ModelBuilder.
  • Experience with visualization tools like ggplot, Plotly, matplotlib, D3, Tableau, or bokeh.
  • Experience with data formatting and cleansing software packages.
