About the position

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with clients to understand their challenges and leveraging data to provide insights and solutions. You will extract and analyze data to form informed opinions on how to best assist our clients, developing visualizations that make complex analyses accessible to a broad audience. Collaboration with stakeholders across the organization is key, as you will identify opportunities to leverage Visa data to drive business solutions. Your responsibilities will include mining and analyzing data from company databases to optimize and improve product offerings, marketing techniques, and business strategies for Visa and its clients. You will assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques, developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to various data sets. Predictive modeling will be a significant part of your work, aimed at enhancing customer experiences, revenue generation, data insights, advertising targeting, and other business outcomes. Additionally, you will develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. This position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of remote and in-office work. Employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week, based on business needs. The role does not require travel, and the work will primarily be performed in an office setting, involving standard office equipment and communication methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Four years of experience in a Senior Data Scientist role or related occupation.
  • Proficiency in Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience building predictive and descriptive statistical models using machine learning toolkits, Jupyter notebooks, Python, and/or SAS.
  • Strong data mining and statistical modeling skills, including regression modeling, clustering techniques, and decision trees.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and/or Spark.
  • Experience generating and visualizing data-based insights using software such as Tableau.
  • Strong communication skills to convey data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
