The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Data Solution Architect to join the team in either Everett, WA; Auburn, WA; Kent, WA; Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; or Tukwila, WA. The Data Solution Architect will have a passion for building large scale software systems across clouds including Amazon Web Services (AWS). We are looking for a teammate who is highly motivated and likes to solve challenging and complex problems across a variety of domains. The Data Solution Architect will lead and perform the design, program, test, implementation, and documentation of complex computing applications and software or computing architecture and computing application system designs. This role involves leading the analysis of end-user processes to define application requirements, writing and compiling complex code based on documented design, and designing application architecture that integrates application software and delivery subsystems for specific applications. The architect will also modify or upgrade complex applications to maintain functionality and performance, identify and recommend improvements, and resolve complex programming or application architecture problems. In addition, the architect will define data products and monetizing, build self-service capabilities for users, and implement quality checks across the data lineage. They will be responsible for designing and implementing different data patterns, prototyping, evaluating technical feasibility, and influencing stakeholders for funding and building the vision of the product in terms of usage, productivity, and scalability of the solutions. The position is hybrid, requiring some work onsite at one of the listed locations, and must meet export control compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and performs the design, program, test, implementation and documentation of complex computing applications and software or computing architecture and computing application system designs.

  • Influences different stakeholders for funding and building the vision of the product in terms of usage, productivity, and scalability of the solutions.
  • Builds impactful or outcome-based solutions/products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and integrating big data platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • 5+ years of experience developing data pipelines.
  • 5+ years of experience coding in SQL, Python, Java, or R.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree.
  • Experience with data lake house.
  • Experience with participating in building the strategy/roadmap for cloud solutions.
  • Experience with GitLab, GIT, IIS, or Windows Server.
