About the position

The Senior Data (Technology) Architect and Analytics Lead at Dell Medical School is a temporary position focused on designing and implementing data structures and advanced analytics projects. This role is integral to the UT-HIP program, requiring expertise in data architecture, modeling, and the use of advanced analytics tools to derive insights from healthcare data. The position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure effective data management and analytics, as well as leading presentations and publications related to the work.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall data design and modeling, including designing efficient and scalable tables and databases.
  • Select and implement advanced analytics tools and strategies to gain insights from data.
  • Define and manage the overall BI data architecture, including ETL processes and analytical engines.
  • Oversee advanced analytics projects, create visualizations, and manage data export processes.
  • Understand EHR data structures and perform ETL processes for analytics projects.
  • Lead the creation of presentations and publications, explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Deliver technical documentation and collaborate with IT operations for long-term support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with business intelligence and big data solutions.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Experience with healthcare data standards like FHIR, CCDA, and HL-7.
  • Experience with Epic or other EHR systems.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing advanced analytics projects.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Certifications related to data architecture or business intelligence.
  • EPIC Certifications.
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
