About the position

As a Senior Data Visualization & Reporting Consultant at CNA, you will play a pivotal role in our newly established Portfolio Management team. This team is dedicated to synthesizing aggregated information across the organization to ensure that our underwriting strategies yield optimal profitability. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data visualization dashboards and process-oriented applications using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Power Apps. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating data integration, ensuring data quality, and creating and maintaining reports that support the full scope of the Portfolio Management team. In this position, you will promote data standards and coding structures, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of internal management information reporting requirements. You will demonstrate technical proficiency in data reporting, maintenance, and control procedures for data collection and reporting system applications. Additionally, you will conduct control activities to ensure data quality and adherence to CNA's data policy, ensuring that the data utilized across the organization is accurate and reliable. This role offers flexibility in terms of location and work arrangements, allowing for hybrid or remote options based on candidate qualifications and preferences. You will collaborate closely with management, technical staff, and subject matter experts to understand business issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop cost-effective data solutions. Your ability to analyze large datasets and create effective dashboards will be essential in driving data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, develop, and maintain dashboards and applications using Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps.
  • Develop and execute data mapping and transformation processes across applications and data sources.
  • Collaborate with management and technical staff to troubleshoot problems and recommend data solutions.
  • Conduct data analysis and implement changes to meet reporting needs and comply with data policies.
  • Craft high-level designs for data solutions and consult with stakeholders on dashboard usage and capabilities.
  • Ensure data integrity by developing processes and controls around data flow and performing data cleansing.
  • Utilize technology to analyze data and identify issues requiring system or process improvements.
  • Conduct training and coaching for users on dashboard features and related tools.
  • Lead data-related research and root cause analysis activities, providing correction specifications as needed.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in data/statistical analysis, data architecture, data modeling, and business intelligence.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Power Apps, with at least five years of experience in blending and analyzing multiple datasets.
  • Proven ability to manipulate and analyze high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varied sources.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
