The Senior Data Warehouse Administrator/Database Administrator position is a hybrid role based in Sacramento, CA, designed for a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in managing and administering data warehouse environments, particularly within Oracle's Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) framework. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can independently build and support an Oracle ADW data warehouse environment with minimal supervision. The candidate will be responsible for translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that the data warehouse meets the needs of the organization effectively. In this position, the Senior Data Warehouse Administrator will perform data warehouse administration for the Enterprise Data Warehouse hosted in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The role involves reviewing existing architecture and providing solution recommendations, as well as developing, testing, and implementing scripts and jobs for data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). The candidate will also visualize and design the enterprise data management framework, specifying processes for data planning, acquisition, maintenance, usage, archiving, retrieval, control, and purging. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle's Autonomous Data Warehouse service and will be responsible for developing physical data models, testing approaches, plans, scripts, and documentation of results. Additionally, the role includes maintaining a data catalog and a data dictionary for the enterprise data warehouse, participating in the development of requirements and design specifications, and evaluating and monitoring databases to resolve performance issues. The Senior Data Warehouse Administrator will also monitor the EDW, respond to incidents, and provide documentation to support the Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling Framework. Mentoring and educating team members on best practices and industry standards is also a key responsibility of this role.
