About the position

As a Senior Database Admin at Cotiviti, you will play a crucial role in driving high-performing technical teams to meet project objectives. Your responsibilities will include designing and coding complex database systems, collaborating with various stakeholders to solve intricate problems, and mentoring other engineers to enhance their skills and development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise PL/SQL software components including both DDL and DML.
  • Perform Oracle database performance analysis and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.
  • Manage database rollouts in Development and QA environments, and prepare rollouts for UAT and Production.
  • Review existing data architecture and make recommendations for enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Collaborate with business, engineers, and DBAs to design and validate architecture solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement database tools, document schema, ER diagrams, and standards for use, control, and maintenance.
  • Continuously self-educate and mentor team members in proper software engineering methods and techniques.
  • Review software engineering approaches to proposed solutions to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined on the annual Performance Plan and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in database administration.
  • 7+ years developing enterprise applications with proven experience in RDBMS and PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience in SQL tuning, writing cursors, triggers, and complex queries.
  • Experience working with customers and consultants to gather requirements and integrate with existing functionality.
  • Expert knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in database management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong internal customer service skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Database Administration and Data Architecture experience.
  • Knowledge of .NET Web application development.
