About the position

The SQL Server Database Administrator at Ballard Spahr is responsible for supporting SQL Server database systems in both test and production environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining database servers, as well as monitoring system performance and implementing database policies. Responsibilities

• Designing, configuring, and supporting database servers
• Monitoring and troubleshooting to effectively diagnose database problems
• Documenting all programs & systems, including system changes and maintenance plans
• Planning for future SQL database needs
• Working with the applications team on the installation and testing of prospective applications and making recommendations for implementation.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree or a combination of education and related experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience as a database administrator
• Previous experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred
• Certification in MS SQL preferred.
