About the position

CACI is seeking a cleared Senior Database Administrator to support the Military Sealift Command (MSC) Integrated Business System (IBS) program. This role involves architecting, developing, maintaining, and enhancing database infrastructure for modern web-based business systems applications. The position requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, and offers opportunities for professional growth in a remote work environment with occasional visits to Chantilly or Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and manage multiple SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Provide strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities to identify opportunities for improving system and data boundaries.
  • Play a critical role in the development and deployment process, mentoring new developers and improving processes.
  • Develop, modify, and design new or existing software systems to meet client needs.
  • Provide technical support for the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new systems and enhancements.
  • Create, modify, and execute test plans and scripts.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and development managers to ensure projects meet standard requirements.

Requirements

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of modern database design, management, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of software development and release management processes.
  • Expertise in distributed systems and architectures, including statement-based replication and event-based service mesh.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, log analysis, performance tuning, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for building complex data structures and procedures.
  • Experience in Event Driven Microservice environments using technologies like Kafka and AWS SQS.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and JIRA.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and SVN.
