We are seeking a full-time Senior Database Administrator in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and planning management and administration of technology in your area of specialty. You will work closely with team members to ensure that technology effectively supports enterprise systems. Additionally, you will share your knowledge and provide mentoring to other IT associates, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will analyze existing database systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security. You will collaborate with the IT Manager to establish database security structures and ensure compliance with Sox regulations. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining database access systems, which encompass tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers. You will also administer database replication between servers across both Local Area Network and Wide Area Network, ensuring data integrity and availability. Your role will require you to tune and optimize database objects, provide 24x7 on-call support, and offer technical input to solution development plans and concept documents. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the business impacts of issues and how they relate to IT-owned solutions. Effective communication in both written and verbal forms is essential, especially in cross-functional settings with business partners. You will actively mentor less experienced IT Administrators and perform or plan major version upgrades. Designing and implementing effective monitoring of enterprise systems will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will tuning systems using your experience and deep knowledge of the area. You will need to foresee risks and communicate or mitigate those before problems arise, documenting technical designs and procedures for the team library. Additionally, you will plan and manage technical projects involving other teams, communicate technology effectively to non-technical associates and management, and recognize and understand technology impacts within the business. Your contributions will also include participating in technical research on new technologies, processes, or procedures, with a desire to continuously learn and implement new technologies. You will participate in project definition activities, including estimation of delivery.
