About the position

The Senior Database Administrator at Ampcus Inc. is responsible for providing comprehensive database support services to application and operations teams, including the Network Operations Center. This role involves managing database software installations, upgrades, and infrastructure, as well as creating and supporting application databases. The position requires a strong commitment to customer service and effective communication with internal and external clients, ensuring that database performance meets business requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide database support services to application and operations teams.
• Install, upgrade, and patch database software.
• Manage database infrastructure and create application databases.
• Provide status reports on tasks and issues encountered.
• Escalate customer outage issues appropriately through management.
• Assist application groups with design development for business requirements.
• Participate in logical design processes and responsible for physical design/implementation.
• Enforce database standards and follow up on inconsistencies.
• Perform routine reviews of databases to ensure performance levels are acceptable.
• Provide 24/7 support for production database environments.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures to protect data integrity.
• Manage backups and ensure successful recovery processes.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Experience in project management methodologies.
• Working knowledge of at least one database management system.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts.
• Commitment to stay current with technology concepts.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
