About the position

The Senior Database Administrator at Team TAG Services, LLC is responsible for managing SQL Server databases across various lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. This role involves performing SQL Server administration, handling migration and upgrade projects, and providing recommendations for performance, security, and design. The position also requires developing automated solutions for DBA tasks and ensuring high levels of database performance, availability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Perform SQL Server administration and manage SQL Server databases.
• Handle migration and upgrade projects for SQL Server 2014/2016/2017/2019 database systems.
• Manage SQL Server databases in various lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Participate in database code reviews and provide performance, security, and design recommendations.
• Adhere to defined change control procedures during database deployments.
• Develop solutions to automate DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS, etc.
• Review performance bottlenecks and implement query tuning to improve performance and scalability.
• Work with infrastructure and applications teams during project planning, implementation, and rollout phases.
• Monitor database performance using native and third-party tools to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and monitor database backup and recovery procedures, handle database patching, and implement security policies and best practices.
• Proactively monitor and set up required alerts for database systems.
• Determine effective ways to improve performance of DB Servers, including server configuration changes or index/query changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• 3 years working as a Database Administrator or related title.
• 3 years with SQL Server Always On and Failover clusters for high-availability and disaster recovery.
• 3 years using T-SQL and PowerShell to automate SQL administration functions.
• 3 years developing solutions to automate database administration tasks using PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS.
