About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Database Administrator III to join our team in the DMV area, specifically in locations such as Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. This role is integral to our mission of protecting national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing and creating SQL tables, unstructured data systems, and data transmission interfaces that interconnect with our prototype systems. Your expertise will ensure that security measures are in place by managing user access, backups, and implementing instance tuning and security controls to safeguard our data management systems. In this position, you will collaborate closely with Software Development Teams to support their needs, providing planning and guidance to the Database Administration Team. You will review work products and results to ensure quality and consistency, and you will work alongside other Database Administrator IIIs to enhance our database management capabilities. This role requires a strong foundation in database administration, a commitment to security, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related experience. If you do not possess a degree, four additional years of experience are required. Candidates with an Associate's degree will need two additional years of experience. Furthermore, you must hold one of the specified certifications within six months of starting the position. This role also requires an active TS/SCI clearance, emphasizing the importance of security in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create SQL tables, unstructured data systems, and data transmission interfaces for the interconnecting system associated with the prototype.
  • Ensure security measures by managing user access and backups, and by implementing instance tuning and security controls to safeguard the data management system(s).
  • Collaborate closely with Software Development Teams to support their needs.
  • Provide planning and guidance to the Database Administration Team, reviewing work products and results to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with other Database Administrator IIIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five or more years of related experience in database administration.
  • If no degree, four additional years of experience are required.
  • If holding an Associate's degree, two additional years of experience are required.
  • Must hold one of the following certifications within 6 months of commencing work: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Vendor tool certifications appropriate to TDL requirements (e.g., Oracle and Mongo).
