About the position

The Senior Database Administrator at AMN Healthcare plays a crucial role in developing a modern data pipeline for the Language Services data lake. This position requires expertise in database management systems, data architecture, and data quality, with a focus on designing and maintaining data warehouses and integrating data from various systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Data Architect and utilize tools such as SQL Server, Python, and Snowflake to ensure efficient data processing and management.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver upon the technology road map in alignment with Language Services leadership to improve the underlying costs and capabilities of the AMN Language Services portfolio
  • Adhere to coding policies, technical documentation, and operational discipline as defined by software development policies
  • Communicate effectively for team leadership, software release documentation, client response, and leadership team updates
  • Involve in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (i.e. Agile/Scrum) including technical requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, code deployment, and production support
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies associated with the software, ensuring alignment with AMN Information Security policies and procedures
  • Participate in on-call processes and events during application downtime and degraded performance
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior staff on integration methodologies
  • Participate in architecture discussions and design sessions to understand data requirements
  • Develop the data warehouse based on requirements using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Python, PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS
  • Implement best practices for database performance tuning, indexing, and data partitioning
  • Ensure data consistency and integrity
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust ETL processes using tools such as Python, PySpark, SSIS, and ADF
  • Monitor ETL job performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows for efficiency
  • Work closely with Salesforce administrators to design and implement data integration solutions
  • Utilize advanced SQL skills to create complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for data analysis and reporting
  • Leverage the capabilities of the Snowflake data platform to architect and implement scalable data solutions
  • Build ETL pipelines using Python and relevant frameworks
  • Collaborate with business analysts to design effective Power BI data models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 7-10 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 11-14 years of work experience
  • Certifications in relevant technologies, such as Snowflake, Python, PySpark, Sql-Server, SSIS, and Power BI
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure and AWS
  • Knowledge of best practices in data governance and compliance
