About the position

The Senior Database Analyst at GDIT will support the Administrative Office of the US Courts (AOUSC) Case Management Systems Office (CMSO) in mission-critical applications utilized by the federal courts. This role involves working within an Agile development environment, collaborating with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements, and developing data analysis techniques to guide business decisions. The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring data integrity, developing database management policies, and creating data visualizations to track key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Work within an Agile solution development environment with daily scrums and biweekly sprint planning.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and users to gather business requirements and map them to technical requirements.
  • Meet with agency leaders and stakeholders to develop innovative data analysis techniques.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Analyze large amounts of data to guide business decisions using advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Synthesize disparate information and recognize patterns across data, developing visualizations for key performance indicators.
  • Ensure proper definition, control, and coordination of data elements and standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of database management policies and standards.
  • Conduct peer reviews of code and perform data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and other database objects in SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Design Data Models in Microsoft Excel Power Query and Dashboards in Power BI.
  • Develop and deploy ETL packages using CI/CD pipeline.
  • Work with Atlassian Suite of software development management tools.
  • Index system and application logs in Splunk and create dashboards, alerts, and reports.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7+) years of overall relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major.
  • Proficient experience with Databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Oracle.
  • Experience with Snowflake and exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
  • Demonstrated understanding of standard Data warehouse concepts.
  • Adept with data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams and data marts.
  • Previous experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions.
  • Experience with Data migration from legacy on-premises database to multi-cloud/hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Able to complete database environment installation, configuration, and ongoing administration support.
  • Experience creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of court operations and law enforcement business data.
