About the position

The Senior Database Application Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing internal financial reporting database applications. This role involves implementing and enhancing products, automating reporting requirements, and ensuring successful data warehouse operations. The analyst will collaborate with business partners to translate complex requirements into technology solutions, while also providing production support and troubleshooting incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance internal financial reporting database applications.
  • Implement and enhance process flows, database table structures, objects, reports, and queries development.
  • Automate reporting requirements to ensure successful monthly data warehouse loads.
  • Create control processes and produce reports, including automated reports and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Analyze and produce ad-hoc and planned reporting requests for feasibility and impact on current processing.
  • Deploy controls to meet audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with business partners to determine requirements and functional specifications.
  • Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into programming specifications and technology solutions.
  • Liaise with technology database administrators for implementations and maintenance.
  • Provide production support for jobs in process and troubleshoot incidents.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Digital Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in financial database application development.
  • OR a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Digital Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in financial database application development.
  • Experience in financial database application development, including Oracle SQL, Oracle PL/SQL (Oracle Versions: 11g and 19c), LINUX Shell Scripting (Korn/Bash), TOAD, and Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Data validation, Advanced Formulas and Functions, Macros/VBA, Data Management).
