Senior Database Architect

About the position

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Senior Database Architect to support a proposal effort for the Department of State (DOS). This role involves leading large-scale data management, warehousing, and analytics projects while ensuring the security and integrity of critical systems. The position is hybrid, requiring work at the customer site in Washington, DC, and is contingent upon contract win. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience in data management and cybersecurity to protect sensitive data and contribute to the improvement of the cybersecurity infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Leading large-scale data management, warehousing, and analytics projects.
• Maintaining vast data holdings and associated information system components.
• Developing data management strategies ensuring high availability.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in data management using Microsoft SQL or similar relational database systems.
• Must have a DoD Directive 8570, IAT III or IAM III certification.
• Must have an active TS with SCI eligibility, preference is a DOS clearance.
• At least 3 years of experience managing database components for a custom developed application.
• At least two (2) years of experience in managing ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
• Solid knowledge of data mining and acquisitions, database architecture, database administration, data archive recovery, database structure systems design, data modeling, database analysis and metadata repository creation.
• Experience leading large-scale data management, warehousing, or analytics projects.
• Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of database design and development, data warehousing, or data sciences.
• Strong communication and data presentation skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
