About the position

The Senior Database Developer GDOT is crucial for maintaining the operational health of databases and servers. This role involves close collaboration with Enterprise Data Architects to ensure robust database design, development, and maintenance, aligning with agency needs and technical standards. The position requires assisting in the daily administration and monitoring of databases and servers under direct supervision, working collaboratively with Enterprise Data Architects to design, develop, and maintain database objects, and developing and maintaining comprehensive systems and user documentation. Additionally, the role includes providing reliable database support to agency staff, ensuring efficient and continuous operations, and engaging in proactive maintenance activities to enhance database performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily administration and monitoring of databases and servers under direct supervision.
• Work collaboratively with Enterprise Data Architects to design, develop, and maintain database objects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive systems and user documentation.
• Provide reliable database support to agency staff, ensuring efficient and continuous operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Minimum of four years of specific job experience in database and server administration.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database design and maintenance.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with IT teams and non-technical stakeholders.
