About the position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Database Developer/Modeler to join their systems and software engineering team in Dahlgren, Virginia. This role involves software development, integration, and testing, focusing on complex Digital Engineering challenges. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a central software system, supporting the modernization of Navy systems and ensuring mission success.

Responsibilities

• Modeling, software designing, developing and testing a central Software System.
• Executing Agile-like processes to iteratively design and develop necessary changes to maintain, fix bugs, and add new features.
• Providing change support for the full lifecycle: design, implementation, test, and verification alongside other team members specialized in design, testing, data analysis, and development.
• Applying skills to the latest DoD weapons and sensor systems, modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success.
• Supporting complex software intensive systems and data models providing unambiguous semantic and measurement system descriptions of data elements and a standard method of defining the data format and meaning.
• Working as a cross-organizational team to define a multi-layered Data Architecture model, the Fire Control Data Model, a Shared Data Model to enable integration, Traceability Models, and create data model projections that form the basis of interface Message Models.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
• Ability to work with a Team-of-Teams: developers, testers, engineers, Subject-Matter-Experts and other staff as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with leadership.
• Ability and desire to learn required Domain Knowledge, toolsets, and technical frameworks (tech stack) as needed.
• Proficient at Advanced PL/SQL within an Agile environment.
