About the position

The Senior Database Developer at The Intersect Group is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable database solutions primarily using Oracle and SQL. This role emphasizes best practices in database management, data integrity, and security, while also integrating with backend services through Node.js and Python scripting. The position requires collaboration with frontend and backend developers to ensure efficient data flow and may involve some front-end development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable database solutions using Oracle and SQL.
• Implement best practices for database schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through comprehensive backup and recovery plans.
• Utilize Node.js for efficient database operations and integration with backend services.
• Develop and maintain server-side logic and database interactions using Node.js frameworks.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation, ETL processes, and automation tasks.
• Ensure the efficiency and scalability of Python code within database operations.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs for seamless integration with various applications and services.
• Collaborate with frontend and backend developers to ensure cohesive and efficient data flow across systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in database development and design using Oracle and SQL.
• Strong understanding of database schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with Node.js for backend integration and database management.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Ability to design and develop APIs for application integration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with front-end development using Angular and/or React.
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.
