The Senior Database Developer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is responsible for the design and development of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) components. This role requires collaboration with both business and technology departments to understand system data and its applications, providing essential support around data integration within the EDW platform. The developer will offer guidance in data modeling and data warehouse design, as well as help define data architecture and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. A significant aspect of this position involves mentoring analysts and developing a comprehensive understanding of the data, its usage, and its structure. Experience with healthcare data and SQL programming is strongly preferred, while familiarity with database administration concepts is considered a plus. In this role, the Senior Database Developer will work within a data warehouse environment that encompasses data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation. The developer will assist in the development, maintenance, and support of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock enterprise data warehouse system and its corresponding data marts. Troubleshooting, tuning, and enhancing existing data warehouse applications will also be key responsibilities. The developer will provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members, create new or enhanced components of the data warehouse, and participate in the design, development, and documentation of reporting systems. The position requires a demonstrated ability to participate in multi-functional projects independently, acting as the point of contact to drive initiatives. Strong project management skills, initiative, and the ability to handle meetings with all levels of management are essential. The Senior Database Developer will work independently to carry out departmental and institutional initiatives while collaborating effectively within team and user group structures. Other duties may be assigned as required.
