About the position

The Senior Database Developer will play a crucial role in supporting the HIV Management System Project, focusing on data transformation and migration from legacy databases to a new environment. This hybrid position requires strong technical skills in database management, SQL, and .NET development, along with excellent communication abilities to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.

Responsibilities

• Support the HIV Management System Project by managing database development and administration tasks.
• Participate in data transformation and migration projects from legacy databases to a new database environment.
• Write, read, and interpret SQL stored procedures and triggers in SQL Server or Oracle environments.
• Build relational databases following design best practices and guidelines.
• Provide support for production environment data ingestion processes.
• Identify data anomalies and apply data validation rules and remediation routines.
• Work cooperatively with functional and technical staff to meet project timelines and deliverables.
• Develop network diagrams, data flow diagrams, SOPs, and other documentation as required.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in SQL DBA roles.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) processes for data migration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of .NET, C#, and VB programming languages.
• Experience with SQL Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
• Familiarity with container application development tools, such as Docker.
• Experience with the GitHub developer platform.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Toad, SQL Developer, or DBeaver.
• Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Cloud hosting or Amazon Web Services.
• Development experience using a MacBook Pro.
