About the position

The Senior Database Management Specialist is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing large-scale enterprise databases. This role involves working with various database technologies, ensuring high availability, and supporting applications in a cloud infrastructure. The specialist will also be tasked with monitoring production database activities, performing data extractions, and implementing best practices for database management.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage large-scale enterprise databases.
• Build complex data extractions, queries, and databases using PostgreSQL, Informatica, and MongoDB.
• Support applications in a Cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EC2 and CI/CD processes.
• Monitor production database activities and batch jobs for operational improvements.
• Perform database maintenance activities in production and lower environments.
• Manage and optimize large databases, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Develop and implement best practices for database management and data governance.

Requirements

• Minimum six (6) years of experience designing databases, queries, and reports for large-scale enterprise requirements.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience with PostgreSQL, Informatica, and MongoDB in a complex environment.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience with tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, Jira, and GIT.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in document management systems.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting applications in AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience monitoring production database activities and batch jobs.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in large-volume database migration efforts.
• Strong understanding of database architecture and design, including normalization and indexing.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum five (5) years of experience as a database expert in federal or state-based marketplace systems.
• Experience with processing EDI transaction sets such as 834, 820, 999.
• Experience working with 270/271 Health Care Eligibility Benefit Inquiry and Response transactions.
• Experience in developing and implementing best practices for PostgreSQL DB and MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices.
• Experience with Integrated Eligibility and Affordable Care Act applications.
