About the position

The Senior Demand Planner at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in the Clinical Trials Division, focusing on the management and optimization of supply chains for clinical trials. This position involves designing and implementing inventory management plans, collaborating with internal and external teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the right therapies are delivered to patients at the right time, thereby contributing to the company's mission of making a positive impact on global health.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, interpret, and review an inventory management plan to forecast the supply of study drugs to global clinical trials.
  • Provide input into User Requirement Specifications of Interactive Response Technology (IRT) medication management module and complete User Acceptance Testing if required.
  • Review the IRT strategy to ensure it supports the strategic supply plans and that IRT settings are adjusted to optimize supply and demand.
  • Ensure robust plans and optimize global and regional supply strategies to ensure continuity of subject supply effectively and efficiently.
  • Establish connections between Thermo Fisher demand planning teams and client-specific project teams, ensuring partnership while representing Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally.
  • Partner with internal and external project teams and interact directly with customers to share key data for effective supply chain planning.
  • Ensure the temperature excursion process is performed as required.
  • Assist in training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Stay updated on relevant cGMPs, GCPs, and other regulatory requirements and ensure study management activities are aligned.
  • Demonstrate and promote company vision.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain and business/operations management is preferred.
  • 4+ years of supply chain and/or planning experience leading global supply chain design and logistics management, preferably related to clinical program design and execution.
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing process and ability to analyze cost implications for the overall business.
  • Enhanced PC knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to professionally represent Thermo Fisher while working directly within a customer site.

Nice-to-haves

  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of clinical supply requirements, phases of clinical development, and factors influencing study designs.
