About the position

The Senior Demand Planner is crucial for achieving the company's sales and profit objectives by developing sales demand plans and stock plans at the item and voyage level. This role focuses on financial forecasting, purchasing, and inventory management across a global supply chain, ensuring efficient stock levels and compelling merchandise presentation. The planner collaborates with various teams to align on financial objectives and optimize inventory flow, ultimately driving sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales demand forecasts by style and location/voyage using the TXT demand planning system.
  • Analyze historical sales trends and research demand drivers to improve inventory efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Merchandising, and Cruise Line Retail teams on promotional events/products.
  • Recommend adjustments to allocations/orders based on regular system reviews.
  • Drive sales through weekly analysis of best sellers and partner with the Planning Manager to optimize inventory buys.
  • Evaluate reporting on potential lost sales, overstocks, and storage concerns to make informed decisions.
  • Communicate findings on discontinued or end-of-season merchandise to the Merchant and Planning Manager.
  • Identify slow-moving items and recommend markdowns or modifications to the assortment.
  • Monitor and forecast sales, receipts, and margins during the monthly Open to Buy process.
  • Present business results and forecasts during formal reviews with management.
  • Partner with Merchants in assortment development and provide mentorship on inventory management.
  • Collaborate on currency of inventory analysis and clearance of aged stocks.
  • Identify and communicate style/program opportunities to the Merchant and Planning Manager.
  • Lead weekly meetings with the planning team to discuss strategies and priorities.
  • Ensure timely communication of new merchandise allocation delivery dates to relevant teams.
  • Review operational sales and inventory targets to ensure alignment with overall business goals.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in distribution, allocation, or planning.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong numbers aptitude.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail math proficiency.
  • Familiarity with global supply chain management.
