About the position

One Workplace is seeking a senior level design consultant to develop creative interior space solutions that meet customer needs. This role involves a high degree of customer engagement, creative decision making, and autonomous project ownership. The consultant will serve as a leader and mentor, managing multiple key projects and engagements while acting as the primary customer liaison. Responsibilities include design discovery, co-creation, design validation, documentation, and quality assurance, from inception to final installation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as client liaison.
  • Distill and analyze project information.
  • Manage multiple key projects and engagements.
  • Organize meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct product research and contact vendors for pricing and information.
  • Engage with customers to gather project information and uncover challenges.
  • Lead design discovery and co-creation sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Drive or lead creative engagements and workshops.
  • Specify furniture required per final furniture layouts and select finishes.
  • Influence, inspire, and guide solutions from supporting team members.
  • Produce and present design concepts to customers.
  • Create and revise design drawings, including furniture block plans and installation drawings.
  • Develop validation packages and spreadsheets.
  • Estimate budgetary hours and manage project hours.
  • Prepare design budgets and proposals.
  • Serve as a mentor for other designers.
  • Participate in or lead internal and external projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Attend industry events and peer networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior or Architectural Design or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years related design experience.
  • CIDA or NAB accreditation preferred.
  • One or more professional certifications recommended (e.g., NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP).
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
  • Full professional knowledge of commercial furniture products and systems furnishings.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes, regulations, and ADA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Ability to draw/sketch by hand.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
