About the position

The Senior Design Engineer will lead new product development, product improvement, and cost reduction projects. This role involves project leadership, evaluating customer requirements, concept development, and product design, particularly in the music or construction industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed customer requirements and corresponding product functional requirements in collaboration with the Product Manager.
• Provide effective leadership to multifunctional project teams to accomplish project goals.
• Stimulate development of ideas for new products, product improvements, and cost reductions.
• Conduct engineering analysis regarding strength calculations, design layout, fits and tolerances, and CAD modeling as required.
• Review code compliance of custom products used in various locations.
• Oversee accelerated product life cycle tests and evaluate field testing and potential misuse of products.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive product engineering experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) software and stress calculations.
• Ability to conceptualize, formulate design possibilities, and coordinate development by the project team under time and financial constraints.
• Commitment to effective project leadership, coordination, and evaluation, with recommendations for changes required to improve overall results.
