About the position

The Senior Design & Project Management Learning and Development Advisor is responsible for managing the planning and development of training projects for the Design and Project Management (DPM) department. This role focuses on equipping personnel with the necessary skills for their current job needs and future growth opportunities, collaborating with subject matter experts to create effective training curricula and content.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of training modules for DPM personnel to support the creation of design work orders that are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and conform to company standards.
  • Create and manage a process to define and develop lesson plans and overall curriculum for in-class, online, and hybrid delivery.
  • Manage training delivery plans, including curriculum design, scheduling, and support for training staff.
  • Direct and review the work of third-party content developers and facilitate the gathering of training content from SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Track and report on learning management system (LMS) compliance training utilization and monitor annual DPM Training budget expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a business-related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • 2 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of project management principles including organizing, scheduling, scoping, risk analysis, and budget analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use computer systems such as SAP, DPSS, CISCO, GFMS, PM Works, GIS, AutoCAD, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8 years of related experience with increasing responsibility in planning, design, and project management of electric distribution projects.
  • 2 years of experience as a Customer Project Planner.
  • Ability to develop training materials in technical fields such as engineering design, drafting, or construction trades.
  • Knowledge of business practices, job processes, engineering principles, and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) rules.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range from $96,600 to $144,900 based on experience and qualifications.
