About the position

This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for commercial and residential land development projects, focusing on the preparation of detailed plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D from detailed sketches or red-lines.
• Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles, and cross-sections.
• Understand and apply established company standards for drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, and file names for sheet layout.
• Handle AutoCAD transfers efficiently.
• Analyze sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine the best approach for developing and completing drawings with minimal supervision.
• Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request additional work when needed.
• Maintain an organized work area to allow access to project information by other team members.
• Be flexible in work assignments and team assignments.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Experience in civil design.
• Extremely proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients, and public agency officials.
• Self-starter with the ability to work interdependently within a team environment.
• Flexibility to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as project needs change.
• Ability to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
