About the position

The Senior Desktop Support Engineer at Weichert Co. is responsible for providing advanced technical support to employees and managing the server infrastructure. This role focuses on troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, managing IT assets, and ensuring the smooth operation of the desktop environment to maintain high levels of user satisfaction and productivity. Additionally, the position involves patching endpoints and servers, configuring and deploying devices, and collaborating with other IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced technical support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
  • Configures and deploys laptops to new and current users.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manages and maintains IT assets, including inventory and documentation.
  • Manages endpoints and servers using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Intune.
  • Installs, configures, and updates operating systems and applications.
  • Responsible for the deployment and management of security protocols.
  • Collaborates with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to junior support staff.
  • Participates in IT projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology strongly preferred or Certification from a recognized institution
  • ITIL or Microsoft certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 10 plus years of experience in desktop support and network administrator role
  • Experience providing Top Tier level IT support in a high volume setting required
  • Previous experience with Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019/2022, and Mac OS X configuration and management preferred
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Intune
  • Advanced knowledge of networking
  • Proficiency with managing Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge and experience supporting, troubleshooting and configuring Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android Devices
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology/methods and adapt to in-house system applications
  • Able to effectively work independently and solve problems
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and inquisitive

Nice-to-haves

  • ITIL or Microsoft certifications preferred
  • Previous experience with Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019/2022, and Mac OS X configuration and management preferred
