About the position

The Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer will architect, design, code, and implement next-generation technical solutions using software engineering best practices. This role requires expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, AWS, and related technologies, with a focus on providing technical direction and hands-on software deployment. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site work at least two days a week in Woodlawn, MD.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, code, and implement technical solutions using software engineering best practices.
• Provide expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, AWS, Ansible, RedHat, NGINX, Governance, and Monitoring.
• Brief management, customers, teams, or vendors using appropriate technical communication skills.
• Implement and manage environments utilizing Cloud technologies such as AWS.
• Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience with implementing, managing, and monitoring environments utilizing Cloud technologies such as AWS.
• 5+ years of experience implementing and managing CI/CD systems and methodologies on AWS.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Linux OS and RHEL 8+.
• Experience with AWS core services (e.g., EC2, ALB, ELB, EBS, IAM, S3, VPC).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior SSA or Federal government experience.
• Complex scripting, debugging, data analysis, and problem resolution within open-source applications.
• Understanding and practical experience with PaaS and IaaS categories of Cloud computing.
• Experience with source code versioning and Pull Requests with Git and Stash/BitBucket.
