About the position

Imagine One is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to support the US Navy's shore-based maintenance applications. This role involves designing and migrating on-premise workloads to the AWS cloud, requiring adaptability and a passion for continuous learning. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while shaping the future of the US Navy's IT infrastructure. On-site support is preferred, but remote options may be considered for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and management of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and continuous integration and deployment.
  • Oversee containerization efforts and manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure scalable and reliable application deployments.
  • Analyze and assess cloud architecture needs for the DoD DCIO IE.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage comprehensive cloud architecture and design documents, focusing on AWS, Microsoft EntraID, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Design and execute the migration of on-premise workloads to AWS, addressing challenges and learning curves associated with the transition.
  • Conduct in-depth technical analyses of various cloud service solutions and provide strategic recommendations for improvements or changes.
  • Actively participate in Cloud Architecture-related governance, working groups, and forums to ensure compliance with DoD DCIO IE policies and standards.
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise written artifacts related to cloud enterprise IT architecture and design.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services, including core services, security best practices, and architecture design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft EntraID for identity and access management within cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of DoD cloud policies, goals, objectives, and architecture development.
  • Proven experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with tools like Ansible and Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Experience with zero trust networking principles and implementations is a plus.
  • Excellent skills in Shell scripting, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Proficient with GitHub Enterprise for version control, collaboration, and repository management.
  • Knowledge of Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with vendor cloud technologies such as Edge Computing for tactical edge applications.
  • Ability to analyze existing IT architectures and design new, secure, and innovative cloud-based solutions.
  • Skilled in developing clear and concise technical documentation and translating operational requirements into technical designs.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
