About the position

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Austin, TX, with an initial remote work option. This long-term position is ideal for a technical leader who is passionate about optimizing and automating the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with a strong focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing a robust and scalable DevOps infrastructure that supports our development and operational needs. In this role, you will be responsible for automating software builds, deployments, and testing processes using CI/CD pipelines. You will configure and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible, ensuring that our infrastructure is both efficient and reliable. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with both development and operations teams to bridge the gap and ensure smooth deployments. Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of infrastructure issues will be part of your daily responsibilities, as will the implementation and management of configuration management tools like Chef and Puppet. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing infrastructure performance and resource utilization, and you will be expected to stay up-to-date on the latest DevOps tools and technologies to continuously improve our processes and systems. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a robust and scalable DevOps infrastructure.
• Automate software builds, deployments, and testing processes using CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to bridge the gap and ensure smooth deployments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues proactively.
• Implement and manage configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet).
• Optimize infrastructure performance and resource utilization.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest DevOps tools and technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a proven track record of success.
• In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles and methodologies (CI/CD, Agile).
• Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible preferred).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) - familiarity with at least one is preferred.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
