About the position

SS&C is a global provider of investment and financial services and software for the financial services and healthcare industries. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is eager to learn and contribute to setting up infrastructure and pipelines to support developers. This role requires a strong technical background in areas such as Git, Ansible, Python, Docker, and databases. Good communication skills are essential, as you will be regularly interacting with a variety of stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Partner with software and operations engineers to support a modern private cloud that can handle the requirements for a global company
• Design, build, and deploy services supporting our enterprise cloud platform
• Mentor other software engineers around patterns and practices for highly available systems
• Integrate with CI/CD, Kubernetes, VMs, backend services, and managed-service offerings
• Build and maintain observability dashboards to monitor the overall health of the ecosystem
• Build components for reuse across the organization, maintaining documentation, demo applications, and reviewing pull requests
• Work closely with our support team and user community to promote best practices for cloud adoption

Requirements

• Engineering degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of development experience (Java, Go, Python, or other languages)
• A solid foundation in object-oriented and cloud-native design
• Experience in writing HTTP services in higher-level languages (e.g., Java/Spring, Go)
• Experience with relational and document databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience learning new open-source software, APIs, and frameworks
• Exposure to automated testing, modern CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Familiar with bash, Git, JIRA, and agile methodologies
