A rapidly growing 700-person Bio-tech company based in Rockville, MD, is currently seeking multiple fully remote Senior DevOps Engineers with a strong background in AWS. This position is part of the company's expanding Engineering team, which is focused on leveraging innovative technologies to enhance product development and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and will be adept at utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to streamline deployment processes. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable and reliable systems that support the company's product development efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the development teams and aligns with the company's strategic goals. Your expertise in DevOps practices will be crucial in automating processes and improving the overall efficiency of the engineering workflows. Responsibilities

  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to manage and provision AWS resources.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support product development using Java, Python, and TypeScript.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams regarding cloud infrastructure and DevOps best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
  • Solid background in DevOps methodologies and practices.
  • Experience with build engineering tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or MySQL databases.
  • A degree in a relevant field and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Go or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus or ELK stack.
